Inside the fridge, there are 17 shelves and compartments. The fridge compartment offers 18.5 cubic feet of space, which is about what you would expect from a French door fridge that costs this much. It also has a decent-sized icemaker packed into the left door, though it isn't the largest I've seen.

You can alter the shelving in both compartments to create custom storage setup for the items you need to keep. The interior design of the GE PYE22PYNFS is also attractive. The LED lighting is a nice accent. The in-door storage bins come with a third shelf that can be folded down to store tall items. The drawers have temperature controls that let you set them to Meat, Beverage or Deli settings. The drawers are easy to open and shut, but I found the plastic's textured coatings to be a bit rough on my fingers.

The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator includes the complete set of features you'd expect from a fridge at this price that includes Wi-Fi as well as app support via GE's SmartHQ software. The app is available on iOS and Android devices and lets you control your refrigerator from anywhere around the world. It also offers a lot of customization options. It also sends you notifications when the door is left unlocked, when the freezer or fridge must be defrosted and when the filter has to be changed.

It is nice if the GE PYE22PYNFS came with Precise Fill, an option available in a handful of other GE refrigerators that allows you to set the number of cups of water you'd like to pour out at once. The fridge shows a countdown to reveal how much water is left but it's not as useful as Precise Fill.

Bosch Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
