Volvo Key Fob Troubleshooting

Volvo drivers love the remote control features of their key fob. They can lock and unlock their car as well as start the motor and even locate it using an app on their smartphone.

Place the key fob's face up on a clean surface. Find the button that will let it go. Put a coin between the fob cover and the fob, and carefully pull up.

Locking the Door

To press the manual lock/unlock switch Hold your key fob with the volvo v50 key logo facing up. Find the black button close to the edge of your key fob and gently press it. This will open the cover that protects the manual key blade. The cover can be turned clockwise using a flathead, or coin.

Starting the Engine

For example, if you have the Hands-Free Power Liftgate with logo projection and programmable height (if equipped), you can open it using the key fob. It is possible to open the liftgate by pressing the button, and then close it by pressing the same button.

Turning off the Alarm
